St. Louis, Misouri Based Mallinckrodt Lot Numbers Explained
St. Louis, MO based lot marks are different from the Paris, KY and Phillipsburg, NJ based lot marks. St. Louis based lot numbers identify the date of manufacture through Mallinckrodt's own internal systems. Date of manufacture can be obtained by contacting customer service at 800-554-5343.
The unique, sequential, non-repetitive assigned lot numbers have complete tracability and an annual letter code that specifies the year. Each letter is followed by a 5-digit number with increments from 00001 to 99999 that does not duplicate within a given year. The following list is an indication of the annual letter codes denoting the years 1996 to 2005 currently in use:

Examples:
Lot Number D00252 was specifically assigned to produced product code 5712 in 2002.
Lot Number D00253 was specifically assigned to produced product code 7205 in 2002.
Mallinckrodt Chemicals manufactured prior to 1996 are marked with unique six-digit alphanumeric lot numbers.
Paris, KY and Phillipsburg, NJ Based Mallinckrodt Lot Numbers Explained
Paris, KY and Phillipsburg, NJ based lot marks are different from the St. Louis based lots marked. Paris, KY and Phillipsburg, NJ lot numbers identify the date of manufacture of the product as noted below or the Mallchem website.
The unique six-digit alphanumeric lot numbers have complete traceability and the lot numbers contain three segment of information. For lot number V02C02, the lot number reads as follows:

The first letter is used to designate the year of manufacture.

The two-digit number designates the calendar week the material was produced. | The three-digit manufacturing identifier can be numeric or alphanumeric and represents a unique lot of material. |
Examples:
Lot Number V02C02 was assigned to material produced during the 2nd week of 2001.
Lot Number M39015 was assigned to material produced during the 39th week of 1998.
Mallinckrodt Chemicals manufactured prior to 1997 are marked with unique four-digit alphabetic lot numbers.
